University and school · Two clear learning paths

The right help for what you actually study.

University students get one-to-one help for a specific module. School students practise IB and Cambridge IGCSE by topic and can request teacher support when they need it.

How SubjectScout works

Two paths, each with its own steps.

The school and university experiences are genuinely different — here is how each one actually starts.

For school students

1

Pick your curriculum and topic

IB or Cambridge IGCSE, then a subject and a specific topic.

2

Practise and self-mark instantly

Solve exam-style questions and evaluate partial responses against marking points and examiner tips.

3

Request a teacher when you want more

Register interest in personal tutoring any time you want extra support.

For university students

1

Tell us what you need

Share the module, curriculum, goals, schedule, and securely upload the materials.

2

We review and match

We rank eligible teachers, then operations approves the strongest options.

3

Confirm and learn

The teacher accepts the slot, the pilot booking confirms, and you join the classroom here.

Frequently asked questions

Questions students ask most.

SubjectScout is a learning platform with two tracks: managed one-to-one teacher matching for university students, and free topic-based exam practice for IB and Cambridge IGCSE school students.

A university student submits a request describing their module, goals, and schedule. SubjectScout ranks eligible teachers, and a human operations team reviews and approves the strongest matches before the student sees any proposal.

Real payment collection is intentionally deferred for the adult university pilot. Video lessons and bookings are active; secure checkout activates once Stripe is fully configured.

The current beta includes selected IB Diploma and Cambridge IGCSE topics. Its unofficial practice questions and marking guidance remain subject to expert accuracy, provenance, and rights review before public release.

Teacher profiles only go public after operations verifies identity, at least one academic credential, and the required agreements. Minor-eligible teaching requires the separate safeguarding checks defined for that service.

Confirmed university lessons happen in SubjectScout's own built-in video classroom — no separate video app is required.
